Jah B: Vampire
Rerelease of classic Wackies production w/ fantastic unreleased cut (w/ download code)
- A1 Tony Jackson: Mother I Love You
- A2 Itopia: Mother’s Dub
- B1 Vampire
- B2 Wackie’s Rhythm Force: Vampire Version
Never before released, Vampire is top-notch Bullwackies, featuring Jah Batta before he decisively swapped singing for dee-jaying, backed by the Wackies Rhythm Force in full, dub-wise glory. The rhythm is strung-out but majestic, with deadly horns and jazzy keys. The ticking, irruptive, reverberating drum sound is pure Wackies genius.
On the flip, over the same rhythm, Mother I Love You recycles a Lloyd Barnes song debuted in 1977, on a City Line 12” credited to the Chosen Brothers. Issued on the Jackson Production imprint in 1981, the rendition here is way heavier and more developed.
Both vocals come with dubs. Vampire Version steals the show.
